Haggai and Agnes Mwesige are tireless servants of the local people of Nateete, a poor sector of Uganda’s capital, Kampala. The Mwesige’s have limited sources of funding the basic needs of their family of 5 and need support, especially if they are to be able to provide schooling for their 3 children. By having a steady income the Mwesige’s can be assured their family is taken care of and turn their focus to helping set up sustainable business projects and community leadership in Nateete. Their goal is to be able to support their family with funds generated by future businesses within 5 years.
DIAS, along with other donors, have been able to facilitate the construction of a Multi-Purpose Facility on their land within the slum of Nateete. Throughout the week and on Sunday, various community and educational programs can be run in the high-and-dry building.
